Services
We meet together every Sunday morning at 10:30am to worship God. Our worship includes prayer, singing, bible reading, and a talk based on the bible passage. God has been showing us recently that our worship can also include open times of testimony and prayer. We know God is at work in life of the church. This service lasts about 1.5 hours. All ages gather together at the start, and then during the service the children’s and youth groups leave to learn and grow thorugh age appropriate teaching.
We also have evening services at 6.30pm on the second and fourth Sundays in the month. These are both distinct. On the second Sunday of the month we have our Praise Night with contemporary worship songs, a short talk, and a time of resposne and reflection. On the fourth Sunday it is Cafe Church. This has tea, coffee and homemade cake, with discussion around tables, and sometimes an interview with members of the church. This is a less formal way for us to meet, get to know people and to grow in our understanding and love of God.
Youth & Children’s
Youth and Children’s work happen during our 10.30 service. Creche, Pre-School/Reception, 5-11’s and 12-16 (years 7-11).
Welcome Sundays
Once a term, we hold Welcome Sundays, these are where we encourage all to wear a name label, and all are invited to stay for a lunch. Keep an eye on the calendar for when these are being held.
Services
Sundays are the day we gather as a church family and worship our God. People tend to start arriving about an hour before the service starts, gathering for conversation in the hall or getting children booked into groups. The service starts at 10.30, with a welcome and some notices, we then have sung worship and prayers, a talk, and then another worship song to close. After the service all are invited to stay around for tea and coffee, and a time to get to know each other. This takes place in the hall, and some people move outside onto the field or play area during this time. There is plenty of parking around the site, some at the back of the church building, outside Orchard Coffee House, and we have an overflow parking area in a nearby field.
