Determined to create something new, ‘run by the community, for the community, to serve the community’, local people rallied round and, thanks to an incredible combined effort, opened Gorsley Community Shop and Post Office just 12 months later.

With all the essentials and everyday items stocked the community shop, saves jumping in the car to travel further afield, plus a large percentage is local produce. And can you believe it the shops runs on volunteers, with only the manager and post office staff as paid staff – a really loved community project.
